Super Secure Canadian Bank Notes

Thursday, July 7, 2011

Now if our Canadian money wasn’t cool enough before, the Bank of Canada has released details of the new bank notes. First of all, they are no longer paper. They are made from a singleĀ pieceĀ of polymer, and embedded with some awesome security features. Its got your standard raised ink patterns, highly detailed complex images, and metallic shiny holograms. But its also got the coolest security feature ever, it has like a secret agent-esque micro image. To see this image you have to locate the clear window with the maple leaf in it, then hold it up to your eye and look through at a point light source. What you will see is a very small icon that shows the bills denomination. This is so awesome, but we could totally do one step better. Our coins should have a small hole in them with some sort of laser engraved lens embedded inside. That way we could shine a laser pointer through it and project images on walls. Now thats very 007.
